NOGEPA 2.7A C – Coxswain Conventional Lifeboat and Capsules

The Coxswain Lifeboat Training is intended for those designated as Coxswain of a lifeboat. The 2.7a C Conventional Lifeboat and Capsules is intended for the regular (not free-fall) lifeboat.
The purpose is to train the captains in the preparation, the actual launch and the way of handling the lifeboat which is in use at an offshore mining installation.

Learning targets:

  • Maintaining the survival craft in an operational condition.
  • Contributing to/carrying out drills and reacting to alarms.
  • Preparing the survival craft for launching.
  • Boarding of passengers.
  • Launching the survival craft and navigating the survival craft and moving to a safe zone.
  • Communicating by radio and/or other means.
  • Ensuring safety of passengers.
  • Disembarking of passengers to a safe place.

What should I bring?

  • Valid identification (passport, identity card, driving license)
  • Valid medical examination certificate

To participate in this training you will need a medical examination, NOGEPA Offshore or OGUK Offshore medical examination certificate doctor.

You can book a NOGEPA Offshore medical examination with us. Please mention this in step 3 in the booking form. STC NEXT can arrange this medical examination for you. On www.nogepa.nl you can find a certified doctor nearby to book the declaration of good health yourself.

Training times:
We expect the participants at 07.45 on the first training day. The following days start at 08.30. All training days end no later than 16.30, unless the participant attends additional training(s).

Language:
The training is given in English. We can organize this training in a different language for groups on request and if necessary with an private interpreter.
