Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats (STCW)

The four-day Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than fast rescue boats (STCW PSCRB) training course is designed for crewmembers charged with operating and launching the lifeboat, life raft and rescue boat.

The PSCRB certificate has a validity of 5 years, everyone on board must attend a refresher course every five years to maintain the license. The course meets STCW guidelines and is recognized by the Inspectorate of the Environment and Transport (ILENT).

This course is certified by the Environmental and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) under institute code NL007.

The Proficiency in Survival Craft course contents:

  • The division of tasks and responsibilities when abandoning ship;
  • Preparing for abandoning ship and what to do when abandoning ship;
  • Communication;
  • Leadership;
  • Practical exercises and manoeuvring a lifeboat;
  • Cooperating with the on-shore fire fighting organization during a fire on board;
  • The intention and use of life-saving appliances;
  • The construction of life-saving appliances.

What should I bring?

  • Valid identification (passport, identity card, driving license)
  • Valid seafarer medical examination certificate
  • Seamansbook

To be sent prior to starting the course:

  • Copie of Basic Training (STCW) certificate
  • Copy of the first page of the Seamans book
  • Copy of the Certificate of Competency

It is important that we receive the required documents in time, otherwise it will not be possible for us to issue a certificate.

 

In order to participate to the training, participants need to have a valid Basic Safety (STCW) certificate and a valid Certificate of Seafarers Examination

To be sent prior to starting the course:

  • A copy of the first page of the delegates seamansbook
  • A copy of the delegates old Basic Training (STCW) certificate

It is important that we receive the required documents in time, otherwise it will not be possible for us to issue a certificate.

Training times:
We expect the participants at 08.15 on this training day. Training ends no later than 16.30, unless the participant attends additional training(s).

Language:
The training is given in Dutch. We can organize this training in a different language for groups on request and if necessary with an private interpreter.

Requirements for participation:
In order to participate to the training, participants need to have a valid Basic Safety (STCW) certificate as well as a Seafarers medical certificate.

    •  Passport photograph (with name and date of birth written on the back)
    • Seagoing medical certificate (physical examination)
    • Copy of the participant’s personal information from the municipal personal records database or an enlarged photocopy of their passport.
